amor vincit omnia

COULD LOVE AS THE POWER IT IS HELP IN CHANGING THE WORLD?
COULD WE WITH THE HELP OF LOVE STOP WARS?

CAN LOVE MOVE MOUNTAINS?

WELL, THEY TRIED IN THE 60ies AND 70ies WITH "MAKE LOVE NOT WAR".
DID IT HELP?
IS LOVE OF MONEY AND WEALTH MORE IMPORTANT THESE DAYS?
IS IT ABOUT THE SELF? EGO CENTRICISM?

WHY IS NOT THE LOVE OF ANOTHER PERSON ENOUGH?

COULD ALL THE WOMEN WHO LOVE THESE GREEDY FILTHY MEN OF WARSHIP TURN THEIR BACKS TO THEIR BELOVED ONES AS A PROTEST?

COULD THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

LET'S SEE. I.E

Dear Laura Bush,

I am writing this pledge to you as a fellow woman and (visual) artist. This is just an idea, an experiment. I'm asking you to at least consider and give my idea some thought.

I understand that you love your husband, mr Bush. Most probably the same way as I do love my boyfriend and my family. But there is a problem. Your husband George causes much much more grief and horror in this world than my loved & closest do. Sadly.
That is a bitter fact. But your husband has great power and can therefor make a difference, something that is not in the powers of me or my loved ones.

This is the idea I'm presenting: do you think your love to your husband could make any difference in todays world and the future of it? If you would turn you love away from him, would his world crumble, would he see what life is all about?
Would he realize the importance of love. Would he see the tremendous numbers of love destroyed and vanished in the world that is caused by war and conflict?

Is money of love, power and wealth bigger today than the importance of love towards other humanbeings, animals, nature and all of Gods creation (whatever God you believe in)? has real love gone corrupted, turned into commercialism?
The "make love not war" shouts of the 60ies and 70ies seem to have dissapeared and I am questioning that? Why is that? That slogan should be said at every dinnertable every day. it should be brainwashed into children from birth. It should be inherited within the womb. I believe the women of this world can make a difference! it is about time we stand up and fight for our homes against war and greediness! You can play one of the biggest parts in this fight! which is of course a non violent act of love. Sometimes we must hurt our loved ones to show them our true love. so, in some cases love hurts...

My theory about life is complicated but on one hand very simple. we all need love, without love we become wrenched, twisted and sad. Even horrible. Perhaps dangerous. Mr Bush is probably a normal man, with the same needs as most of us have.

I am writing this same letter or a similar one to all the wifes or spouses of the leaders, other powerful, greedy horrible people on this planet.
From worry about my home. my land, my planet, my future, the future of my children. your grandchildren etc.

So if you are willing to challenge this idea I'd be more than pleased. But at least give it some thought, and if you feel like responding I'd be extremly thankful. you can do it anonymously to my mail mail@ninalassila.com or by blogging onto www.myspace.com/ninalassila.

Enclosed you will find information about my artist practice and letter of recommendation.

All material will be used in a Art work dealing with the phenomenon of love.

sincerely and with great respect,
Nina Susanna Lassila
